Text: Matthew 3:8-11
"Again, the devil took Him up on an exceedingly high mountain, and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory. And he said to Him, All these things I will give You if You will fall down and worship me.
Then Jesus said to him, “Away with you, Satan! For it is written, ‘You shall worship the Lord your God, and Him only you shall serve.
Then the devil left Him, and behold, angels came and ministered to Him."

Reflection: 
John 10:10 - This is scripture that everyone should know by heart! "The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly."

What kind of Life? That's right, "abundant life!" Msg. says, a more and better life then you have ever dreamed of! That's good news, friend! And the devil hates good news! Even right now, he is stealing it from somebody! But if it's committed to memory and down in your heart, he can't steal it! Instead the opposite happens, it gives you the power and strength to say devil, your a liar! And no matter how you may try, you can’t steal the truth from me! Speak it out, get used to hearing yourself make that declaration, because it's a powerful truth!!

That's why knowing the word is important! he is going to throw everything he can at you! That's why it's important to be able to defend yourself with the word!

Hebrews 4:12-13 Msg.
"God means what he says. What he says goes. His powerful Word is sharp as a surgeon’s scalpel, cutting through everything, whether doubt or defense, laying us open to listen and obey. Nothing and no one is impervious to God’s Word. We can’t get away from it, no matter what.

Jesus when He was tempted by the devil, do you know what He said? You should!
Because it's tried, true and proven ammunition you can use against the devil, just like He did!
That’s why "to him who has ears, let him hear!" The word is where your faith and your defense comes from! Romans 10:17 "So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God."
