Topic: Rekindle Fire 3 - Spiritual Fire
Text: Revelation 2:4-5
"Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love.
Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent."
Reflection
Spiritual fire represents our passion, zeal, and intimacy with God. It is the inner burning that compels us to seek God, serve Him wholeheartedly, and live victoriously. However, many believers go through seasons when that fire begins to dwindle times when prayer becomes a struggle, Bible study feels dry, and spiritual hunger weakens.
Just as a physical fire must be tended to remain burning, so must our spiritual fire be intentionally rekindled and sustained. God desires that His children burn continually with holy passion and devotion, but the pressures of life, sin, distraction, and neglect can cause our flames to die out.
In this Devotional, we shall look at how to rekindle your spiritual fire and remain fervent in your walk with God. No matter how low your flame has become, the fire can be restored and intensified.
REMEMBER WHERE YOU FELL
Before a fire can be rekindled, there must be honest reflection:
a) Examine Your Spiritual Life (2 Corinthians 13:5)
Take time to assess where your zeal started to decline was it sin, bitterness, or distraction?
b) Acknowledge the Change in Your Passion (Revelation 2:4)
Recognize that your love for God has grown cold and don’t pretend all is well.
c) Identify What Caused the Fire to Die (Hebrews 12:1)
Pinpoint the weights or sins that may have contributed to your loss of fervour.
d) Be Honest with God (Psalm 51:6)
God is near to the broken-hearted and delights in sincere repentance and hunger.
Biblical Example: The Prodigal Son remembered how far he had fallen and returned to the Father (Luke 15:17-20).
Prayer:
Father, I come before you broken, please fit me where I have fallen in Jesus Name
