Topic: Worship As a Lifestyle - Worship is becoming God’s friend 
Text: James 2:21-23  
"Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar?
Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect?
And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God."

 Reflection: 
Abraham’s obedience to God made him the friend of God. You can choose the level of friendship and closeness you have with God through your level of drawing near to Him in worship (James 4:8).

Jesus called His disciples “friends” (John 15:14). A friend of God obeys His will and is open, transparent, and honest with God about his failures and needs.

Moses spoke to God “face to face, as a man speaks to his friend” (Ex. 33:11 NIV). Moses exemplifies a man of worship, passion, and closeness with God. The keys to a life of worship can be found in Moses’ experience on Mount Sinai.

Reflection:  The Christian life begins with a deep and passionate love for God, but over time, distractions, trials, and worldly pursuits can cause believers to drift away from that initial devotion.  In Revelation 2:4-5, Jesus rebuked the church in Ephesus for abandoning their first love and called them to repentance.
