Topic: IN HIS PRESENCE
 Text: Psalm 27:4
"One thing have I desired of the Lord, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life."

Reflection:
When the Bible speaks about the presence of God, it is not referring to a physical location or a religious atmosphere because God is Spirit, which means His presence is not confined to buildings, mountains, or special gatherings. His presence simply means God Himself drawing near and making His reality known to a person.
Scripture teaches that God is everywhere (Psalm 139:7–10), yet people do not always experience Him the same way. There is a difference between God being present everywhere and a person being aware of His presence. Just as air surrounds us constantly but is often unnoticed, God surrounds human life continually, yet spiritual awareness awakens us to Him.

In the Garden of Eden, Adam and Eve walked with God freely. This shows God’s original intention: relationship, closeness, and fellowship. Humanity was created not just to believe in God but to live in communion with Him and sin disrupted the awareness of that closeness, causing Adam and Eve to hide from the very presence of God when he came looking for them.

Throughout Scripture, God repeatedly restores this relationship. Moses encountered God in the burning bush. David experienced Him while tending sheep. The disciples walked with Him through Jesus Christ. These encounters reveal that God’s presence is not reserved for only the Pastors or spiritual personality. It is God inviting ordinary people into divine fellowship.

To be in God’s presence therefore means living consciously connected to Him, open heart, spirit attentive, and life surrendered.

Reflection: Holiness is often misunderstood. Many people hear the word and think of strict rules, constant correction, or a list of “do’s and don’ts. Scripture reveals something far more relational. God does not call us to holiness to restrict us,He calls us to holiness to claim us. In Leviticus 20:26, God says, “You shall be holy unto Me.” Notice the direction of the holiness.
