Bible Text : Habakkuk 3:17-18 NLT
"[17] Even though the fig trees have no blossoms, and there are no grapes on the vines; even though the olive crop fails, and the fields lie empty and barren; even though the flocks die in the fields, and the cattle barns are empty, [18] yet I will rejoice in the Lord! I will be joyful in the God of my salvation!"
Reflection: Joy in the waiting season II
Believers must understand that God is always working, even when nothing seems to be happening physically. Many miracles in the Bible came after long periods of waiting. Joseph waited before becoming a ruler. Hannah waited before giving birth to Samuel. Abraham waited many years before the birth of Isaac.
God specializes in making things beautiful in His time.
Habakkuk chose to rejoice before seeing the answer. That is true faith. Anyone can rejoice after receiving a breakthrough, but mature believers learn to rejoice while still waiting. Joy during waiting seasons is a sign of trust in God’s faithfulness and believers must guard their hearts carefully during seasons of delay. Discouragement, bitterness, jealousy, and hopelessness can destroy peace if they are allowed to grow. Instead of focusing only on what has not happened yet, believers should remember God’s past faithfulness and continue trusting Him.
No season lasts forever. God is able to turn waiting seasons into testimonies.
True joy is revealed when believers continue trusting God before answers appear. Faith rejoices even when results are not yet visible.
