Topic: Joy That Doesn't Fade
Text: Psalm 16:11
“Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fullness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.”
Reflection: Joy is Rooted in Knowing God.
Joy that doesn’t fade begins with knowing God, not fixing life.
Joy is often misunderstood as a reaction to good things happening. But true joy is not a reaction;it is a foundation. When your life is built on God, joy becomes stable, not seasonal.
In Psalm 16, we are shown that joy is found in God’s presence, not in perfect conditions. This means before anything changes around you, something must be established within you.
Joy is Rooted in Knowing God Personally and it begins when your relationship with God becomes real, and not routine. Many people know about God but don’t walk with Him daily. Lasting joy flows from fellowship, talking to Him, trusting Him, and depending on Him.
In Philippians 4:4, we are told to “rejoice in the Lord always.” Notice it says in the Lord, not in circumstances. That means your connection with Him is your source, so Joy is established before challenges come and if you wait until life is hard to look for joy, it will feel distant. But when joy is built on God daily, it remains even when life shakes.
Joy that doesn’t fade is prepared in quiet moments with God, not just in crisis.
Prayer:
Father, help me build my life on You. Let my joy begin from knowing You deeply in Jesus Name
