Topic: Joy That Doesn't Fade
Bible Text : Habakkuk 3:17-18 NLT
"Even though the fig trees have no blossoms, and there are no grapes on the vines; even though the olive crop fails, and the fields lie empty and barren; even though the flocks die in the fields, and the cattle barns are empty, yet I will rejoice in the Lord! I will be joyful in the God of my salvation!"
Reflection : Joy in the waiting season I
Waiting seasons are often some of the most difficult periods in a believer’s life. There are times when people pray earnestly and expect quick answers, but things do not happen immediately. During those moments, emotions such as frustration, discouragement, fear, and confusion can begin to grow.
Many believers struggle during waiting seasons because they do not understand what God is doing behind the scenes and sometimes people go about comparing themselves with what others have achieved or looking at how smooth their life is going. Some believers go as far as comparing their lives with that of unbeliever and begin to wonder why their own prayers seem delayed. All these delays and comparison beging to cause most believers to become tired spiritually because they expected answers much earlier and believe they should have a better life than that of the unbeliever.
However, waiting does not mean God has forgotten His children because His timing is different from human timing. While people focus on immediate results, God focuses on preparation, character, and long-term purpose.
There are blessings that require spiritual growth and maturity before they can be properly handled.
Sometimes God allows waiting seasons to:
* Strengthen faith
* Build patience
* Develop spiritual maturity
* Teach dependence on Him
* Prepare believers for future responsibilities
If God gives certain blessings before a person is spiritually prepared, those blessings may become harmful instead of helpful.
Waiting seasons are not proof that God has abandoned His children. God often uses delay as a period of preparation and spiritual growth.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, help me trust You during every waiting season of my life in Jesus Name
