Text : Daniel 1:8 
"But Daniel was determined not to defile himself by eating the food and wine given to them by the king. He asked the chief of staff for permission not to eat these unacceptable foods."
Reflection: Living In A Life Of Purpose With God.

There's nothing more fulfilling and good than living in a life of purpose with God especially in a world where the mundane things of life is what many of us are after. In a world where everyone seems to do whatever they like we can see a boy called Daniel who was taken captive to Babylon and exposed to a culture filled with ungodly influences. Yet the Bible says Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself.

Notice that Daniel's victory began with a decision and before temptation could knock on the door and come, he had already made up his mind to obey God.
Young people today face enormous pressure, and the society encourages compromise, dishonesty, immorality, and rebellion against God's standards. To live right, you must determine in your heart that God's approval matters more than the opinions of people.

Daniel's commitment brought him favor, wisdom, and promotion. God honored his faithfulness. Living right may make you different from others, but it will position you for God's blessings and purpose.

Reflection: Holiness is often misunderstood. Many people hear the word and think of strict rules, constant correction, or a list of “do’s and don’ts. Scripture reveals something far more relational. God does not call us to holiness to restrict us,He calls us to holiness to claim us. In Leviticus 20:26, God says, “You shall be holy unto Me.” Notice the direction of the holiness. Holiness is not about people, it is about belonging to God.
