Topic: Bold Faith, No Shame - Be Strong and Courageous.
Bible Text: Joshua 1:9
"Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest."
Reflection
There are moments in life when God calls us to step into unfamiliar territory. It may be taking on a new responsibility, standing for truth when it is unpopular, making a difficult decision, or obeying God in a way that stretches our faith. In such moments, our natural response is often uncertainty. We wonder if we are capable, if we have enough strength, or if we will succeed.
Joshua must have felt this way. He had just succeeded Moses, one of the greatest leaders Israel had ever known. The task before him was enormous to lead the Israelites into the Promised Land. There were battles to fight, obstacles to overcome, and people to lead. If anyone had reason to feel intimidated, it was Joshua.
Yet, God's message to him was simple and repeated several times: "Be strong and courageous." This command was not based on Joshua's experience or ability. It was based on God's promise: "For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go."
This teaches us that courage is not confidence in ourselves; it is confidence in God. The reason we can move forward is not because we know everything that lies ahead, but because we know the One who goes ahead of us.
As followers of Christ, we will all face situations that require courage. Sometimes it means refusing to compromise our integrity when others do. Sometimes it means speaking the truth with love, even when it is unpopular. Other times, it means remaining faithful to God while everyone around us chooses a different path.
Bold faith does not mean we will never feel afraid. Even courageous people experience moments of fear. The difference is that they choose obedience over fear because they trust God's presence more than their emotions.
Perhaps there is an area of your life where God has been urging you to move forward. Maybe He has been calling you to deepen your prayer life, reconcile with someone, share your faith, begin a ministry, or let go of a habit that dishonours Him. Whatever it is, remember that God's command always comes with God's presence. He will never send you where His grace cannot sustain you.
As you go through today, don't focus on the size of the challenge before you. Focus on the greatness of the God who walks with you. His presence is your greatest source of courage.
Today's Truth:
True courage is not found in self-confidence but in the assurance that God is with you.
Key Question:
What step of faith is God asking me to take today, and what is stopping me from taking it?
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for Your promise to be with me wherever I go. Strengthen my heart to trust you in Jesus name
