Topic: Bold Faith, No Shame - Praying for Courage, Not Comfort.
Bible Text: Hebrews 4:16
"Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need."

Reflection: Praying for Courage, Not Comfort.
One of the greatest privileges we have as believers is the freedom to come before God in prayer. We do not have to fear His presence or wonder whether He is willing to listen. Through Jesus Christ, we have direct access to our Heavenly Father. The writer of Hebrews encourages us to come boldly to the throne of grace not because of our own righteousness, but because of Christ's finished work on the cross.

However, there is an important question we should ask ourselves: What do we usually pray for?
Many of our prayers focus on comfort. We ask God to remove every challenge, make life easier, and keep us away from difficult situations. While it is not wrong to present our needs to God, the Bible also teaches us that some challenges are opportunities for our faith to grow.

When Peter and John were threatened because they preached about Jesus, the believers gathered together in prayer. They could have prayed, "Lord, stop our enemies," or "Lord, take away the persecution." Instead, they prayed, "Lord, grant unto thy servants, that with all boldness they may speak thy word." They desired courage more than convenience. They wanted strength to obey God rather than an escape from every difficulty.

This challenges us to examine our own prayer lives. Are we praying only for comfortable lives, or are we asking God to make us faithful disciples? Sometimes God answers our prayers by changing our circumstances. At other times, He answers by changing us. He gives us the grace to endure, the wisdom to make the right decisions, and the courage to remain faithful when life is difficult.

God's throne is called the throne of grace because that is where we receive what we need most. We receive mercy for our failures, grace for today's challenges, and strength for tomorrow's assignments. No matter what you are facing, there is always sufficient grace available for you.

Instead of asking God to remove every obstacle, let us ask Him to make us stronger. Instead of praying only for comfort, let us pray for courage. Instead of seeking the easiest path, let us seek God's will above all else.

A bold believer is not someone who never faces difficulties. A bold believer is someone who keeps trusting, praying, and obeying God through every season. When we approach God's throne with confidence, we never leave empty-handed. His grace is always sufficient for those who seek Him.

Key Question:
When I pray, do I desire God's purpose more than my personal comfort?

Prayer:
Gracious Father, teach me to seek Your will above my comfort in Jesus name
