Topic: Bold Faith, No Shame - Choosing Obedience Over Popularity 1
Bible Text: Galatians 1:10
"For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ."

Reflection: 
One of the quiet battles many believers face is the desire to be accepted by people. We all want to be liked, included, and understood which there is nothing wrong with having good relationships, but the desire for approval becomes dangerous when it causes us to disobey God.

Paul asked an important question: “Do I seek to please men?” There was an understanding that it is impossible to make pleasing people the highest goal of life and still fully serve Christ because people's opinions change quickly. 

What one person praises today, another may criticize tomorrow but God's truth remains the same. Choosing obedience over popularity means deciding that God's approval matters more than the applause of people. It means refusing to join what is wrong, even when everyone else seems comfortable with it. It could also mean keeping your convictions when friends pressure you to compromise, and it also means honouring God in private as well as in public.

I know this can be difficult because standing apart sometimes brings misunderstanding and you may be called too serious, too different, or too strict. Believe me some people may even distance themselves from you because of your values. Yet, Jesus never promised that following Him would always make us popular. He called us to take up our cross and follow Him.

Key Point: 
God's approval matters more than the acceptance of people.

Reflection: Holiness is often misunderstood. Many people hear the word and think of strict rules, constant correction, or a list of “do’s and don’ts. Scripture reveals something far more relational.
