Text: Proverbs 22:6
“Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.” 

Reflection: 
A child comes into the world with little knowledge of life and is greatly influenced by the environment, people, and values around them. Children are naturally eager to learn, and what they are consistently exposed to can shape their character, decisions, and relationship with God.

This is why godly training is essential.

Since children are God’s heritage, they must not only be trained to succeed in life but also to know God, love His Word, and walk in His ways. The presence of God should not be introduced to them as something they encounter only in church; it should become a way of life.

The Word of God teaches us to recognize right from wrong, make wise decisions, develop godly character, and understand God’s purpose for our lives. As we grow, these truths become the foundation upon which our lives are built.

Growing deeper in His presence begins with learning His ways.

Parents and guardians therefore have a significant responsibility. God has entrusted children into their care, and they are expected to guide them toward Him. Training a child in God’s way is more than giving instructions; it involves teaching, correcting, modelling, praying, and consistently demonstrating a life that honours God.

Children learn not only from what we tell them but also from what they see in us.

Key Point: 
If we desire children who will grow deeper in God’s presence, we must first create an environment where God is honoured, His Word is taught, prayer is practised, and godly values are lived out.

Prayer:
Father, help us to raise children who know You, love Your Word, and desire to remain in Your presence. Give parents wisdom and grace to train their children according to Your will in Jesus name

Reflection: Holiness is often misunderstood. Many people hear the word and think of strict rules, constant correction, or a list of “do’s and don’ts. Scripture reveals something far more relational. God does not call us to holiness to restrict us,He calls us to holiness to claim us. In Leviticus 20:26, God says, “You shall be holy unto Me.” Notice the direction of the holiness.
