Topic: Growing Deeper In His Presence - Growing in His Ways
Text: 2 Peter 3:18
“But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.” 

Reflection: 
Growing deeper in God’s presence is not simply about growing older; it is about growing in our knowledge of God and becoming more like Him.

A child who is properly trained in God’s Word begins to understand that God’s presence should influence every area of life, their choices, friendships, speech, behaviour, ambitions, and relationships with others.

The Word of God becomes a guide for their journey.

As children grow, they will encounter different voices, influences, temptations, and pressures. This is why merely telling them what is right is not enough. They must develop a personal understanding of God and His Word so that they can make godly choices even when no one is watching.

Deuteronomy 6:6 - 7 reminds us that God’s Word should be taught diligently to our children and spoken about continually in everyday life. This shows us that spiritual growth should not be limited to a particular day or place. It should become part of our daily living.

The ultimate goal of godly training is not to produce children who simply know religious rules, but children who know God personally and desire to walk with Him.

When a child learns to seek God early, His presence becomes their place of direction, strength, correction, and comfort. As they grow older, the values planted in them can continue to guide their lives.

Therefore, our responsibility is to help the next generation move beyond merely knowing about God to actually knowing God, walking with Him, and growing deeper in His presence.

Prayer:
Father, help us to grow continually in Your grace and in the knowledge of Jesus Christ. May the children entrusted to us develop a genuine relationship with You and remain rooted in Your Word. Let Your presence become their home and Your ways become their lifestyle in Jesus name

Reflection: Holiness is often misunderstood. Many people hear the word and think of strict rules, constant correction, or a list of “do’s and don’ts. Scripture reveals something far more relational. God does not call us to holiness to restrict us,He calls us to holiness to claim us. In Leviticus 20:26, God says, “You shall be holy unto Me.” Notice the direction of the holiness.
