Topic: Living As Light In A Dark World - Let Your Light Shine
Text: Matthew 5:14–16
“Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.
Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.
Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.”

Reflection: 
Jesus didn't say we might become the light of the world. He said, “Ye are the light of the world.”

Light is most useful when it shines in darkness. As Christians, we are called to reflect Christ wherever we find ourselves, in school, at work, online, among friends, and even when nobody is watching.

Living as light means allowing Christ to be seen through our character, choices, words, relationships, and actions. It means standing for truth when falsehood is popular, choosing purity when compromise is easier, showing kindness when others are cruel, and representing Christ even when it costs us something.

We must not hide our light because of fear of rejection or the desire to fit in. The darker the environment becomes, the more important it is for the light to shine.
Our goal is not to draw attention to ourselves, but to live in such a way that people can see Christ through us and “glorify your Father which is in heaven.”

Key Point: 
You were not called to blend into the darkness. You were called to shine in it.
Ask yourself this question "What is one practical way I can let your light shine?"

Father, help me to shine my light and not blend into darkness in Jesus name

Reflection: Holiness is often misunderstood. Many people hear the word and think of strict rules, constant correction, or a list of “do’s and don’ts. Scripture reveals something far more relational. God does not call us to holiness to restrict us,He calls us to holiness to claim us. In Leviticus 20:26, God says, “You shall be holy unto Me.” Notice the direction of the holiness.
