Topic : Living as Light in a Dark World 
Text : Matthew 5:14-16
"Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven."

Reflection:
We cannot produce spiritual light by ourselves except Jesus is the true source of the light we carry. When He said, “I am the light of the world,” He showed us that a life that shines begins with a relationship with Him.
A lamp cannot shine when it is disconnected from its source of power. In the same way, we cannot consistently live as light while neglecting our relationship with Christ.

Spending time with God through prayer, His word, worship, and obedience keeps our hearts sensitive to Him. The closer we walk with Jesus, the more His character is reflected in our lives.
Sometimes we may focus so much on trying to look like good Christians that we forget where true transformation comes from. God is not asking us merely to put on a good appearance but wants to change us from within.

When Christ is at the centre of our lives, His light begins to influence our choices, attitudes, and responses.

Key Point:
Am I depending on Christ daily, or am I trying to live the Christian life in my own strength?

Prayer:
Jesus, help me to remain close to You so that Your light will continually shine through my life.

Reflection: Holiness is often misunderstood. Many people hear the word and think of strict rules, constant correction, or a list of “do’s and don’ts. Scripture reveals something far more relational. God does not call us to holiness to restrict us,He calls us to holiness to claim us. In Leviticus 20:26, God says, “You shall be holy unto Me.” Notice the direction of the holiness. Holiness is not about people, it is about belonging to God.
