Topic : Living as Light in a Dark World - Keep Your Light Burning
Text : Matthew 25:1-13
"Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom.
And five of them were wise, and five were foolish.
They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them:
But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps."

Reflection:
This particular Bible text reminds us that having a good beginning is not the same as remaining faithful.

It is possible to start a spiritual journey with excitement and genuine commitment, yet gradually become careless there by making the prayer become occasional and God's word is neglected. Things we once avoided because they did not honour God begin to seem harmless and slowly, our spiritual sensitivity can diminish.

That is why our walk with God requires continual attention. A lamp needs a continuous supply of oil to keep burning. In the same way, we need to continually cultivate our relationship with Christ. We cannot depend entirely on yesterday's prayer, yesterday's Bible study, or yesterday's spiritual experience.

This does not mean that every day will feel spiritually exciting because there will be seasons when we feel tired, distracted, or discouraged but faithfulness means continuing to seek God even when our emotions are not strong.

Protect the fire while it is burning.Your light is not meant to shine brightly for a moment and then disappear. God desires a life that keeps shining.

Key Point:
What area of my spiritual life needs renewed attention so that my light does not gradually grow dim?

Father, help me remain spiritually awake and faithful at all times in Jesus name

Reflection: Holiness is often misunderstood. Many people hear the word and think of strict rules, constant correction, or a list of “do’s and don’ts. Scripture reveals something far more relational. God does not call us to holiness to restrict us,He calls us to holiness to claim us. In Leviticus 20:26, God says, “You shall be holy unto Me.” Notice the direction of the holiness.
