Topic : Living as Light in a Dark World - Standing Alone
Text: Daniel 3:16-18
"Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego, answered and said to the king, O Nebuchadnezzar, we are not careful to answer thee in this matter. If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of thine hand, O king. But if not, be it known unto thee, O king, that we will not serve thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up."

Reflection: 
There are moments when doing what is right can make you feel like you are standing alone. You may discover that people you expected to support your convictions do not understand them. You may even feel pressured to compromise simply because everyone around you has chosen a different path. Standing firm does not mean being unnecessarily confrontational. It means knowing your convictions and refusing to abandon them simply because you are under pressure.

This is an important distinction. Sometimes we obey God because we expect Him to make everything work out exactly as we desire. But genuine faith says, “Even when I do not know how this will turn out, I will still honour God.”

There may be situations where you have to say no when everyone else says yes. You may have to walk away from a conversation, relationship, habit, or opportunity because participating would compromise your values.

That can be difficult,
But remember: being alone in a decision does not automatically mean you are wrong, and being surrounded by people does not automatically mean something is right. God's Word must remain your guide.

Key Point:
Is there an area where the desire to fit in is making it difficult for me to stand firmly for what I know honours God?

Prayer :
Father, give me courage to remain faithful when I feel alone or pressured to compromise in Jesus name

Reflection: Holiness is often misunderstood. Many people hear the word and think of strict rules, constant correction, or a list of “do’s and don’ts. Scripture reveals something far more relational. God does not call us to holiness to restrict us,He calls us to holiness to claim us. In Leviticus 20:26, God says, “You shall be holy unto Me.” Notice the direction of the holiness.
