Topic : Living as Light in a Dark World - Light That Brings Hope 
Text: Isaiah 60:1-3 
"Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee. For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the LORD shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee. And the Gentiles shall come to thy light, and kings to the brightness of thy rising."

Reflection:
Darkness can make people lose their sense of direction. When someone is discouraged, confused, disappointed, or uncertain about the future, it can become difficult for them to see beyond their present situation. This is one reason God calls His people to shine.

Isaiah says, “Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee.”
Notice that the instruction to shine comes because the light has already come. Our ability to bring hope to others does not come from having a perfect life. It comes from knowing God.

As believers, we will also experience difficult seasons. We may have unanswered questions, disappointments, or situations we do not understand. Being a light does not mean pretending that difficulties do not exist. It means refusing to allow difficult circumstances to convince us that God is absent.

A listening ear can bring light to someone who feels alone.
A sincere prayer can bring encouragement to someone who is struggling.
A kind word can remind someone that they are valued and sharing God's truth can give direction to someone who feels lost.

Be the kind of light that helps people look beyond their circumstances and remember the goodness of God.

Reflection: Holiness is often misunderstood. Many people hear the word and think of strict rules, constant correction, or a list of “do’s and don’ts. Scripture reveals something far more relational. God does not call us to holiness to restrict us,He calls us to holiness to claim us. In Leviticus 20:26, God says, “You shall be holy unto Me.” Notice the direction of the holiness.
