Topic: Walking in the Spirit - Walking in the Spirit Requires Surrender 2
Text : Luke 9:23 
“If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.”

Reflection:
Surrender to God is not only about giving Him the big decisions in our lives. It is also about surrendering our daily desires, preferences, and reactions to Him.

Jesus said we must deny ourselves daily. This means there will be moments when what we want is different from what God wants. We may want to respond in anger, but the Spirit leads us to respond with gentleness. We may want to hold on to an offence, but the Spirit leads us to forgive. We may want to follow our own plans, but the Spirit asks us to trust God's direction.

True surrender is demonstrated by obedience. We cannot say we have surrendered to God while continually refusing His instructions. Sometimes, surrender will require us to let go of something we love, change an attitude we have defended, or step away from something that is not helping our walk with God.

But surrender is not losing; it is placing our lives in the hands of the One who knows what is best for us.

Father, help me to surrender myself to you every day even when my desires conflict with your will in Jesus name
