Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven." Reflection: Jesus did not say that we should try to become the light of the world. He said, “You are the light of the world.” This speaks about our identity as people who belong to Him. Light has a purpose: it helps people see.  In the same way, our lives should help others see something of Christ. Reflection: Most times we pray intensely for an open door, but once the door opens, we become too busy to pray. We ask God for a new opportunity, but when it comes, we become so occupied with it that our fellowship with Him suffers. We ask Him for increase, but the increase can eventually take away the time we once spent seeking Him. The blessing was never meant to replace the Blesser. God wants to bless His children, but His greatest desire is relationship. He does not want us to become so occupied with what He has placed in our hands that we forget the One who placed it there. Reflection  There are times in our world today where we become so focused on where we are going that we forget the importance of who is going with us and we become so excited about opportunities, answered prayers, new beginnings, achievements, and the future, but in the middle of pursuing these things, we can lose the sight of God's presence. During the time of Moses he understood something that is easy to overlook: which is a destination that is not worth reaching if God is not there with us. A child who is properly trained in God’s Word begins to understand that God’s presence should influence every area of life, their choices, friendships, speech, behaviour, ambitions, and relationships with others. As we grow in His presence, our faith must move beyond merely believing that God exists to trusting what He has said. The Word of God becomes our evidence. When we discover what God has promised concerning our lives, we can stand firmly on His Word, pray with confidence, and wait expectantly.
