It must be continually maintained. In the same way, our walk with God requires intentional attention. There are many things that can gradually cause our spiritual light to become dim.  Constant distractions, unhealthy relationships, disappointment, unresolved offences, compromise, spiritual laziness, and neglect of God's Word can slowly affect our passion for God. Usually, spiritual decline does not happen suddenly. It can begin with small things: “I'll pray later.” “I'll read my Bible tomorrow.” “This isn't really that serious.” Over time, these choices can create distance between us and God. That is why we must pay attention to our spiritual condition. And if you...

Purity Foundation Daily Devotional  Friday 25th September 2026  Topic: Living As Light In A Dark World - Let Your Light Shine Text: Matthew 5:14–16 “Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.” Reflection:  Jesus didn't say we might become the light of the world. He said, “Ye are the light of the world.” Light is most useful when it shines in darkness. As Christians, we are called to reflect Christ wherever we find ourselves, in school, at work, online, among friends, and even when nobody is watching. Living as light means allowing Christ to be seen through our character, choices, words, relationships, and actions. It means standing for truth when falsehood is popular, choosing purity w...

Purity Foundation Daily Devotional Thursday, September 24th, 2026 Topic : Living as Light in a Dark World - Walking In Light Text: 1 John 1:5–9  “But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another" Reflection:  Walking in the light is more than knowing what is right; it is choosing to live according to what God has revealed to us.  Walking in the light means refusing to build a secret life that contradicts our public faith, which means allowing God's truth to guide our thoughts, decisions, relationships, and behaviour even in areas that nobody else can see. It doesn't mean walking in the light must be perfect. Sometimes we are tempted to hide our weaknesses because we fear what people will think, try to protect our image rather than deal honestly with our hearts. But God is more interested in genuine transformation than in a perfect appearance. Walking in the light also affects our relationships. When we live honestly and l...

Purity Foundation Daily Devotional Wednesday, September 23rd, 2026 Topic : Living as Light in a Dark World - Keep Your Light Burning Text : Matthew 25:1-13 "Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom. And five of them were wise, and five were foolish. They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them: But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps." Reflection: This particular Bible text reminds us that having a good beginning is not the same as remaining faithful. It is possible to start a spiritual journey with excitement and genuine commitment, yet gradually become careless there by making the prayer become occasional and God's word is neglected. Things we once avoided because they did not honour God begin to seem harmless and slowly, our spiritual sensitivity can diminish. That is why our walk with God requires continual attention. A lamp needs a con...

Purity Foundation Daily Devotional Tuesday, September 22nd, 2026 Topic : Living as Light in a Dark World - Standing Alone Text:  Daniel 3:16-18 "Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego, answered and said to the king, O Nebuchadnezzar, we are not careful to answer thee in this matter. If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of thine hand, O king. But if not, be it known unto thee, O king, that we will not serve thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up." Reflection:  There are moments when doing what is right can make you feel like you are standing alone. You may discover that people you expected to support your convictions do not understand them. You may even feel pressured to compromise simply because everyone around you has chosen a different path. Standing firm does not mean being unnecessarily confrontational. It means knowing your convictions and refusing to abandon them...

Purity Foundation Daily Devotional  Monday 21st September 2026  Topic: Living As Light In A Dark - Nothing Can Separate You From God's Love Text: Romans 8:38–39 “For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Reflection:  Living as light in a dark world begins with knowing that you are deeply loved by God. The darkness around you may bring pressure, temptation, rejection, fear, or confusion, but none of these things can separate you from God's love. When you understand God's love, you don't have to seek your identity or acceptance from the world. You can stand confidently in Christ, even when everyone around you is choosing differently. The enemy may try to make you doubt God's love, especially during difficult moments. But God's lov...

Purity Foundation Daily Devotional Friday, September 18th, 2026 Topic : Living as Light in a Dark World - Light That Brings Hope  Text: Isaiah 60:1-3  "Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee. For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the LORD shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee. And the Gentiles shall come to thy light, and kings to the brightness of thy rising." Reflection: Darkness can make people lose their sense of direction. When someone is discouraged, confused, disappointed, or uncertain about the future, it can become difficult for them to see beyond their present situation. This is one reason God calls His people to shine. Isaiah says, “Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee.” Notice that the instruction to shine comes because the light has already come. Our ability to bring hope to others does not come f...
